Some researchers use images or forms for a researcher or a book and document the source Is it sufficient to mention the source or need special permis?
If some gigure, image, form, table, of any author are being used, two actions are required:
1. Mention/acknowledge the source/reference
2. Permission to use from original author
As mentioned above by colleagues the matter required a permission from the original author .
Everybody should follow
1. Copyright acts
2. Plagiarism rules
3. Ethical approval from self.
Permission is needed for publications !!!!
I mean source inclusion is any ways done ...
For images lots of image processing book use images from satellite to camera (ground) imagery , they do take permission !! Simple reason is it is an act of revenue so for it to be of value , there is a need for proper validation and that is permission (I would say)
Of course need to permission from author or publisher.
