I think there should be a clear line - when we have something nano it should behave in a different manner than a bulk material.
However, nowadays everything is "nano" to make it publicable and to get research funding. Very often the gunpowder is being invented for the second time, because something was well-known i.e. in 1980's and now it is re-discovered as "nano". Unofrtunetally, money makes the world goes round (also the scientific world what is disadvantegeous).
