Dear Sharifi,

Titanium dioxide is insoluble in water and acids. So, in the synthesis of samples based on Ti using other methods than solid state solution method, then we often use other forms of Ti. For the synthesis of BaTiO3 by sol-gel method, you can use TiCl4 as you mentioned because during heat treatment Cl gets remove from the sample. You can also use titanium isopropoxide, titanium butaoxide, titanium acetate etc. for the synthesis.
