Moisture in aquifers at sub-soil behave like sponge, in absorbing shocks and tremors at times of e quakes.

If the sub-soil is dry, it behaves like a rock/ hard surface in transmitting effects of shock waves Etc. This could have adverse effects on high rise buildings especially in regions as NCR New Delhi region.

This calls for combined study on hydro-geology and seismology.
