Social media is revolutionizing the way we live, learn, work, and play and social communities now exist in almost every conceivable domain. But, not all social communities are the same: specifically, four broad types of online communities have morphed into Web. 2.0 entities, namely, relationship-, interest-, transaction-, and fantasy-oriented. Communities of the first type organize around (usually) intense life experiences that lead to personal bonding between members. In the second type, interactions center on topics of common interest. The third type of community revolves around facilitated buying and selling of products and services and the delivery of information that supports transactions. The fourth type plays roles in simulated environments.

Social Media in current time has a huge effect on our life, as any invention, it had its benefits that appear clearly in many daily life human being needs ( Relationships, communications, learning, promoting products and events ... ext) and in the other side it had its negatives.

Due to a search we had done before we concluded the next 4 appearances among social media users :

1- Feel Of Missing Out (FOMO): When we all time feel a need to be connected to whats happening in the social media world, it becomes like an urges and that feeling lead to a stress that can be satisfied only by being socially updated to our walls in our social media apps.

2-The Pseudo Pleasures: Most of social media apps users had been unconsciously feel the happiness while scrolling the posts that most of it are happy shareable moments of influencers and celebrities which is in fact no body gonna share sad moments or real daily life and everything gonna seam perfect. its like a drug that lead to such a high feelings temporarily and it ends while we finish our scrolling to feel the symptoms of withdrawal when we get back to our real life.

3- Building habits: social media apps developers are very smart people. they used the behavioral sciences results in addition to artificial intelligence and data sciences to predict the users behavior and to build some habits that can keep social media users connected the most long time to their apps. for example scrolling down and see more, gamification and getting likes and shares ... etc. and by building those habits the users will stay longer and longer in social media apps.

4- Irrational thoughts: this appearance it may be connected to the second question about belief in after life. we observed that irrational thoughts are very easy to be adopted by social media users due to the age of most them which is teens. and while they are searching for answers to many questions connected to the existential reality, in the social media they will find a world of free thoughts and different attitudes and opinions which may lead to adopt irrational thoughts.

Its just a brief points that may answer a small part of the problematic that you mentioned Pr. Amar Bencherik and which i see it as a highly recommended field of research.

Academic Research in psychology should be meant to investigate this phenomenon and find solutions to moderate the use of social media in our life, academic researchers should intervene. I steel remember the courses of Pr Amar Bencherik when you were calling psychology students to focus on intervention in research to produce an effective model that can be used to solve the problem.

In conclusion it's never too late while we could search for a scientific solution.

i don't understand what do you mean in this question:Can this change our belief about the afterlife?

but I think rational and planned use of social media has its advantages; As overuse it may be considered an addiction. So one can use the most of the possibilities offered by the new era with proper planning and timing and enjoy using it.

Some people doubt the existence of the afterlife, and when we see the web getting bigger, and some people immersed to the extent they forgot about the real life, it comes to my head to question if the doubters still unsatisfying.

Social media is the mirror of a real-life albeit it has both positive and negative impacts on our social life!

People like to create their own identities by social communication.

The real life and mental health will be affected negatively, if the avatar

has no or little relationship to the living person.

I cannot see any connection with this communication media and the human quest for or about an afterlife, but this technical imagination seems to move some people.

One of them says: I tried to develop friendships with people outside of Facebook in reality in the same way as n Facebook.

So I went down to the street and started stopping bystanders to tell them what I had eaten a little while ago, what I feel at this moment and what I intend to do.

I started by giving them pictures from my garden, my picture driving the car, my picture eating food in a restaurant, and photos of my daily activity.

I stood by some passers-by who spoke to each other to hear their conversation and admired it.

I found out that this way in the real world has effect… So now I have three people following me.
