To achieve 100% voluntary blood donation by 2020,we need to motivate and generate awareness.
College students are healthy donors.
It may be made compulsory. But madam, do you know what percentage of collected blood ultimately reach to the patients?
Many blood packets are not used due to many reasons.
1. We can not store blood for a long time. If it is not used within a stipulated time, it is to be discarded.
2. Many blood samples can not pass the tests of Hepatitis B and some other serious diseases.
3. There is no perfect co- ordination between the time of maximum demand in an area and time of maximum supply.
So, THE BLOOD COLLECTION CAMPS MUST BE ORGANISED SYSTEMATICALLY IN A ROUTINE MANNER.
The donation may be made compulsory in between some age groups.

Though compulsion of donation isnot agreed by few.Its ok to keep blood donation voluntary.

I thinks blood donation is a voluntarily event and should not be compulsory or mandatory and if it is than the motive of voluntarily blood donation will be hampered.

Thnx sir.Agree with voluntary donation.then we need to generate or boost awareness amongst youth and promote maximum donation with centralised blood donation and distribution.
It should be implemented because it cover dual purpose i.e. a free health check up to students as well as the reserve blood for the emergency.
