I am trying to write a research paper in Computer science with some roles of PRISMA Checklist. I used most three databases (ISI, IEEE and Scince Direct). I am try to read most highly impacted papers to my work with some some search filters. When defining my protocol while searching, the results make me confused to what enclude and what exclude. Here is what I've got while searching:
ISI shows +400 (200 research articles +200 conference articles )
IEEE show +900 (30 research articles +870 conference articles)
SD shows +1200 (+1000 research articles + 100 conference articles )
My question is should I enclude conference articles to my work or exclude it? Can you advise me what to do?
Conference presentations are not usually considered to be "articles" because they are not actually published (nor are they peer reviewed).
If you want to look at the articles that had the most impact, that is often determined by the number of citations that they received. ISI will easily order your results by the number of citations, rather than the default which is recency of publication.
Do not include conference papers as it will lower the reputation of your paper
