Models are useful when we do not know. What about if the behavior of a phenomenon that is being modelled is fully understood? Equations, variables and constants are written in stone if our understanding of the phenomenon is so thorough that the equations rise to the level of a law. Newton’s Law of Cooling for example is a law, whereas Einstein’s theories of relativity remain as theories. Is it time to recognize Einstein’s achievements as physical laws?
