Hey, does anyone know any effective way to separate virus from exosomes fraction? my problem with the separation of the EVs in this system is the fact that the virus that we work with particles are more or less the same size as the EVs, ~100nm. Therefore, i will need to apply an additional separation method. we tried separate the EVs from the virus particles, by Optiprep velocity gradient and it didn’t work; we also tried to use iodixanol based gradients . any ideas? thanks

Why don’t you try flow virometry which is a form of flow cytometry for the analysis of EVs and viruses. You can label EVs and viruses with commercially available dyes that will target cellular membrane components staining the particle depending on the biochemical constituents of the membrane.
