What is the difference b/w these two data bases SCI and SCIE? or they belong to the same category ?
I have one research paper published in SCIE data base. Can we say that the published paper is also an SCI paper? Apparently SCIE is an expanded version of SCI.

SCIE is the expanded version of SCI. Presently , if your data is dervied of this database you should use the acronym SCIE.
Journal evaluation for SCE or SCEI based upon the same criteria as noted by Thomson Reuters. The only difference is storage media. Due to space limitation of the SCI, SCIE (A web based storage) has introduced. If your one is indexed in SCIE, go for SCIE.

SCI (Science Citation Index) and SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded) is that SCI has a list of top quality journals, while SCIE includes more than the former.

Quality wise, there is no difference between SCI and SCIE listed journals.
SCI was launched in 1964 with a limited list of journals with superior quality. It was majorly focused on Engineering discipline. In the later period, when the research in other domains like social sciences, management came into picture, the SCI list was expanded to cover a wide range of disciplines (more than 150) with around 8,500 notable and significant journals.
You may also confirm the same from the letter attached with this answer.
