Is there a way to prevent yeast S. Cerevisiae from growth phase and focus its lifecycle on ethanol production instead?
I am using the following nutrients in the growth media (in 100 ml):
0.750 gm (NH4)2SO4.
0.5 gm peptone.
0.5 gm yeast extract.
0.350 gm K2HPO4
0.1 gm CaCl2
0.075 gm MgSO4.7H2O,
the temperature of reaction is around 34 Celsius.
substrate is glucose from sugarcane bagasse hydrolysis using cellulase enzyme.
The above fermentation does not yield ethanol at all.
