Hi, when i started using R-studio, i had some problems with graphics in win 7. Then i stop using it, although it was very practical in the use of the console, the workspace, packages and help. Now, am using Tinn-R, because works better with Latex simultaneously, and it's more a code editor, so i can program in different programming languages. I've never used R-Kward, but i've seen that is similar to R-commander, that it's useful if you are starting to use R, because have rapid acces to basic commands.

I use Rstudio and I am extremely satisfied with it. R-Kward looks alot like SPSS. You can manage datasets easier, but if you want to learn R programming I wouldn't recommended. I've never used Tinn-R.

Btw, a reason why I prefer rstudio is that it comes with a server edition. You can set it up on a linux server and then run it from anywhere.

UPDATE: the server edition basically allows you access through any browser. When you close your browser, your session remains open and active, so you can let rstudio run all sorts of scripts on the server machine and join your session to see the progress anytime.

I use a combination of RAnalyticflow (http://www.ef-prime.com/products/ranalyticflow_en/) and Rstudio. R Analytic flow allows me to map out a program using a flowchart with segments of code displayed as nodes. That said, Rstudio is a very polished product which I also use frequently.

I used all those in the past, but none of them nowadays. Now I rather run R from Eclipse using StatET plug-in to link them (StatET is the keyword if you wish to do). All the capabilities I know and people mention hereby are included, in my opinion converging all them in a single tool.

I specially recommend the control over objects structure that is offered more comprehensivelly than RStudio (and which I never saw in TinnR). Simultaneous work with other languages is easily implemented, including latex or java. I f you wish to run from a server you just need to locate the workspace there, and you can run from any computer (if you don't have a server you can do eg over dropbox, for the simple approach).

Only I never saw before is the possibility of running though a browser. Worth trying (ThanksTsikerdekis), as they way I do I need to have the programs installed in the computer were I run. Would you detail more on that please?

I used to use Rkward under Linux and Windows. Unfortunately, it frequently suffered from bugs and instability. Don't know whether this is still the case as I'm now a happy Rstudio user.

Rstudio is constantly evolving and to my mind puts emphasis on the right features. I've personally never used the wrapper dialogues in Rkward. All I want is a clean and smooth development environment.

No possibilities with NetBeans as far as I know

I am using R Studio under both Win Vista and Win 7 (64bit) and have no complaints re graphics output that are related to anything other than me writing bad code :)

I have briefly looked at TinnR but prefer R Studio to that or code-only GUIs.

Considering that I am beginner I also found R-studio more useful and simple to use.

I found R-Studio good and easy to go around with data analysis, creating packages and for producing documents via Sweave.

But R-Studio was not helpful in running simulations when I specifically wrote a script to produce graphs in each time step of a loop (which looks like an animation when graphs are produced consistently, so I know what is happening in the model). I use Tinn-R to prepare the script and read it into R.

I found that R-Studio is very user-friendly. It gives a lot of facilities : auto-completetion, perform helping functions, view plots, ... the environment invites you to tinkering. The learning curve is simply inmediate.

I havent tried Tinn-R, so Im not going to talk about that, but instead the other two only.

I used RStudio IDE when I was in Windows. And RKWard when I shift to Ubuntu Linux.

I would recommend RStudio IDE for Windows, specifically for the following features:

- Organized Interface

- R Sweave (R integration for LateX)

- R Markdown (R integration for HTML, Easy to Publish to RPubs)

- R Shiny

Currently, I am using RKWard as Im a Linux user now. And here are features of RKWard that I like:

- Organized Interface

- With Data Editor

- Export Codes to HTML Format

- With Click-Type Interface like that of SPSS

If you are into latest features of R, I would recommend RStudio since it has this R Shiny, R Sweave, and R Markdown, and especially if you are using Windows or Mac. Otherwise, I would recommend RKWard for its Data Editor, and for its extension, the Click-Type interface.

Both are easy to use, but RKWard is difficult to install in Windows and Mac.

RStudio has many features that I like, but I found it to be slow. I abandoned it after about six months' use and returned to Tinn-R. I organize all my work using ProjectTemplate, and I've found that it helps my workflow.

I use and recommend RStudio in Linux and Windows.

I really liked Red-R for its croos platform and visual nature. The project seems to be dead. I will find the installer in my old collection hopefully.

RStudio is very good and easy to use, but sometimes it freezes or crashes. It also has problems with some of the R packages like Matrix.
