Role of intensity in UV-Vis Spectroscopy?

I have two suspensions of Gold Nanorods in Deionized Water synthesized by the same experimental route. Each of the GNR solutions shows the same peak but with different intensities. Is this related to the concentration of the GNRs when applied to the Uv-Vis spectrophotometer? Generally, I want to know what does intensity determine in Uv-Vis spectroscopy?
