How do you believe that the actions of the current Brazilian government may be acting positively or negatively for Brazilian scientific relationship with the world? Brazil have almost insurmountable obstacles and challenges to further consolidate your scientific field, however, the perspective seems to be nebulous with the current Brazilian government that seeks destruction of the science field as a viable outlet for the rebuilding of the science field. A surreal tactic that has only one end. My question is how this has affected the relations between researchers from Brazil and researchers from around the world.

The pile group effect is often wrongly treated. It should be differentiate two criterions: bearing capacity and settlements (ULS and SLS according to Eurocode 7). Bearing capacity of piles in a group is usually higher than of a single pile; various “theories” and formulas which reduce the pile bearing capacity in group are myth or superstition. In contrary, a pile in a group almost always settle more than a single pile. In the case of a pile socketed in rock the reduction of bearing capacity is not probable – it would be difficult to imagine a mechanism of such phenomenon. The settlement of piles in a group may be a bit higher, but in rock it should not be a problem. In my opinion you are right not using the pile group effect- on the basis of temporary knowledge.

Your question is interesting but one point is very clear that pile group is socketted in rock so there is no issue on settlement. Then, load carrying capacity of pile group concerns that the group effect is need not to consider but the load carrying capacity of a pile group is number pile multiplied by the load capacity of single pile. i suggest you to read the text book titled 'Theory and Practice of Pile Foundations (2013)' authored by Wei Dong Guo published by CRC press Taylor & Francis group..ok all the best..

2- Sedimentary rock, 3-5 MPa uniaxial compressive strength

3- There are 3xD (3,6m) spacing between piles
