Can anyone guide me about the review time of "Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews"? What is meant by "With editor status"? Its been four months, I have been observing the same status on the website
This journal has the longest review period. Even if you check through the Elsevier Journal finder, it has the longest 1st-time decision which is 12 weeks. The reality is even worst. With editor means, a preliminary technical check is undergoing before the editor decides for consideration to be reviewed. The best way to communicate with the editorial team is through the live chat of the journal management.
Thank you so much for giving my discussion question your precious time. Actually, I have submitted an article for the first time in this journal, therefore, I have zero experience with these things.
This journal takes long time to decide for a submitted paper. The paper is subjected to a fist filter by the associate editor. If it passes this prequalification, it is sent to reviewers, where it can take as much as 6 months. The paper may take one year for the final acceptance.
The time to the first decision is given in the site of the journal.
However, in many times they do not hold this time because of the delay in the reviewing process.
In order to publish in these highly impacted journal one has to be patient and persisted.
In my view review time depends on whether it paid journal or not. If its a paid journal review time moderately reduced to even less than a month .IEEE explorer, MDPI are example of such a kind. Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews journal is very slow response only.
