This will depend if you are going to talk about the use of nuclear energy for medical, industrial, agriculture or other applications, or you are going to talk about the use of this type of energy source for electricity generation.
In this last case, you should consider, among others, the following issues:
1- Type of reactor to be used and experience of the supplier.
2- Safety of the nuclear reactors to be used.
3- Legal and regulatory matters.
4- Technological infrastructure of the country.
5- Financing of the construction of the power plant,
First of all, you need to have a good overview of the particular field. For that, you could conduct a SciFinder search on "nuclear transmutation of long lived fission products" under the entry Research Topic. My quick search yielded over 300 papers of possible interest (see attached pdf). You can then refine the search e.g. by selecting only manuscripts written in English or by selecting only journal articles.
Another important point is that you should know if there are any closely related review articles that appeared recently. This could be done by restricting / refining the SciFinder list of references to Reviews only. That way you can make sure that no closely related review article has been published recently.
