Resin embedding for microtome of roots and bark?

Hello everyone.

I am currently interested in doing thin slicing of epiphyte roots and bark to understand their means of attachment. We have samples that are preserved in 90% ethanol without undergoing any fixation process. Is it still possible to obtain good slices with all features perserved?

Hello. I went ahead and dehydrate, infiltrate and finally embed my samples in resin (Technovit7100). However, when I begin to slice, the bark kept getting disintegrated and chips off. Anyone know how to do thin sectioning of wood? Does the infiltration time needs to be longer for the wood structure to be preserved?
