In the past several months I the tab "People you might know" shows me many names of physicist's that I am not familiar with, nor known/collaborated (String theory Group for the most part) and I wonder how does this ResearchGate function work?

Concerning your points:
1. I never cited/read/collaborated with any of their research (Nor I intend to), Nor they cited me (Nor they intend to I believe) as you know from he last thread, I (still) have zero mentions.
2. I never heard of their name, and yet their name appear constantly. I am wondering whether it had to do with my light criticism of their theory. Our field interest is mutual that is true. However that's true concerning a much vaster group of people.
3. There is a one name which appear months non-stop and it starts worrying me as I don't see this person reading any of my papers nor creates contact. we have zero common peers, Zero indirect connections in common. That is just a terrifying feeling. What do you think I should do ?
1. Could it be a bot account ?
2. Is it possible to block using RG ?

1. Is it possible that the Tab is suggesting profiles of people that examine/check your profile ? If that is the case, than there exist a proportion between the number of "profile checks" to the time of appearance ?

However, ResearchGate has not publicly disclosed whether this is a factor in their algorithm. It's also important to note that there may not necessarily be a direct correlation between the number of profile views and the appearance of a profile in the "People you might know" tab, as the algorithm takes into account multiple factors. Alessandro Rizzo Thank you very much for clarifying. Just stating that based on what I see from my own stats, most of the people who read my papers also appear sooner or later on that tab therefore I think it is a valid possibility. In addition, people who type your name and vice versa also appear.
