One of our RG members recently asked 'Where are all my papers gone?'

The tab 'Contributions' was abruptly changed to 'Timeline". Anything new causes some problems initially. Hope we will get accustomed to the new format gradually in course of time. Aged members will take more time to cope up with the new format; at least I feel so.

yes, I saw 'timeline' but found no way to view only the papers without having to scroll through IRRELEVANT answers to questions. Moreover, the links to my paper contributions are not usable to tell someone of one paper: they are 5 lines long! I can't even find my OWN papers without wasting 20mn of facebook style scrolling(& data credit)! Fix this.

"Aged users" who "can't cope" is an easy rationalisation!

for the getting rid of organisation in several orders of logic and based on structure of ideas,  to the profit of an over-simplified merely superlinear timeline... that Wastes time & mind power when looking for something general or specific. Does not even differentiate those. Someone has to show where this leads, so I will.

"Timeline" is not an "advancement" of in-formation that 'aged' can't cope with, but an active suppression of all that the human mind has achieved and this us very frustrating.. You might be too young to have witnessed the drift and loss of what so many worked so hard to build and not know any better or different.

"Time" is a measure of only what moves or rises exponentially, without accounting for pattern, and does not represent adequately the complex orders of the accretion of knowledge OR facilitate the dissemination of it where it is needed, according to subject matter ( logical organisation). It does not even do justice to the post-modern derived notion of multi-factorial, which still classified. You are obviously not aware of parameters of representation.

Timeline merely satisfies the least educated voyeurism, and brings scientific validation down to the level of teenager social popularity, doing away with several thousand years worth of intellectual effort to understand and not let description ride on irrational entrainment into idiotic beliefs and cults. Cults of 'Great Leaders' and socio-economically comfortable 'Great Experts' whose word is as god's, and nothing else can be heard or be accepted as valid or even as 'existing'. In these conditions, what thrives is ungrounded beliefs,  acceptance without questioning, sheep following even to obe's death,  not asking the fundanental questions ior intelligent self-reliance or actual physical resilence (eg facing climate).  This is the worst possible approach to preventing the fast fall of the human condition back into dark ages.

Best example is medicine, where 'masses' believing the Word of Doctor-Experts just because they are 'successful', publised with peer support, or popular in media, has led to terrible mistakes in medical advice -we are falling back to the Middle Ages!-  and  a massive drift in human health and sanity, not to mention behavioural aberration of destroying one's own food & water sources and life-supporting living conditions(shall I add 'to the benefit if the Connected society?' -whom does it actually benefit? or rather profit.)

Open your eyes, look a bit further, hunans have done this at least 3 times before. No learning? Blaming old 'obsolete' brains won't stop the result if you don't see where you are pushing to.

Add: using pattern only is no better.

Patterns of patterns just brerd complication not complexity in orders of organisatio, and most everyone knows that statistics can be made to say anything, epecially what adds legs to the flatland table of one's beliefs or justify that things are the way we see them and can't be different (logical circularity).

The real "advancement" of science was to combine motion and direction, or activity and pattern to detect, describe, explain and change patterns of activity or 'activations'. Not priducing and keeping tabs if as much useless stuff as possible.

The collective 'connected' society does not seem to still believe in our capacity to alter our patterns of behaviour-it's all about keeping up with others' behaviours even if they are stupid? Is that it? What a sad reduction.

Fortunately the problem is now (partly) solved. The negative comments and threads started by many RG users (see other threads, including the one I started) and the (presumably) many negative feedback made them finally changing their mind.

Well, it was not professional from them not to test the RG users opinion beforehand, but at least they took partly the bad move back.

I am also indebted to you that you also expressed your nonacceptance of the "Timeline solution" with this thread.

I was also aiming to show that many USA driven shifts occurring in 'science' to follow cultural changes are bringing complications & details of little use rather than true understanding, as welk as yet mire ressources-cistly solutions, and lead  to the same situations humans have already gone through in past (eg health drift)  but at higher order that we can no longer control (eg population). So apparently snall changes as on RG format need to be rigorously evaluated in a non-local 'World Of Human Organised Society' context (not just 'globa'l here-now')  and not mindlessly implemented.

I do not feel about this.
