I have got sectional forces (axial, shear and moment) from finite element analysis of reinforced concrete slab. I want to investigate crack/crack pattern. Is there any way to know the crack pattern from sectional forces? Any recommended equation, paper or book for this study? Thank you very much.

First of all you cannot get any crack pattern unless you model fracture in your FEM model (using X-FEM techniques). However, if you still want to get an insight on how cracks would form i would say look at the sectional principal stresses. The cracks are more probable to form perpendicular to the direction of high stresses. Following the stress profile formed by relative difference of stresses on the slab you can estimate how cracks would form (assuming plain concrete slab with homogeneous material property).
Being said all that, I think cracking is a very uncertain phenomenon. Since you have a reinforced concrete slab, there can me many ways how crack would:
a) initiate (based on voids and their random* distribution among the continua)
b) propagate based on aggregate/void distribution/along the reinforcement.
Typically in order to investigate cracking in concrete two types of modelling approaches are used:
a) smeared crack approach
b) discrete crack approach
Depending upon what you choose, you can model these using X-FEM (extended FEM) or conventional FEM.

Thank you for the detailed answer. I have used smeared crack approach and I was looking for direct way to get the crack info from sectional forces. I am trying now other methods for my purpose and hoping that i will be successful.
