I am searching for references for MIMO radar multiplexing, in particular frequency-division multiplexing (not OFDM) and time-division multiplexing.
So far I found "Analysis and comparison of MIMO radar waveforms" by Sun et al, however this is rather a comparative study without many details.
Do you have a recommendation?

The references of Zwanteski and Guetlein consider a switching of the Tx antennas with approximately the sampling frequency fs. I am not sure whether this is realistic (Tx hardware) for my fast-chirp sequence modulation (fs=10MHz), Guetlein also mentions related problems in "Calibration strategy ...".
The last four references were what I was looking for (slow-time TDM). In their literature I additionally found
"MIMO Radar Theory and Experimental Results" by Robey et al and
"Beamspace Slow-time MIMO Radar for Multipath Clutter Mitigation" by Mecca et al, which are also useful.

Also the last of them includes a smart interferer which is mentioned as worst case scenario. This interferer increases noise while increasing carriers in order to stress the system and to compensate when making better the behavior of a system with the increase of its effective carriers. Please see:

OFDM is an interesting technique for radar, however usually bandwidths of 1.5 GHz (@24, 77 or 94 GHz carrier) are used for a suitable range resolution. To my knowledge, the DAC has to cover the whole bandwidth, i.e. a DAC and ADC with 1.5GHz would be required. Furthermore, usually a narrow inter-carrier spacing is desired for a high unambiguously observable range, which makes OFDM radar quite sensitive to Doppler (ICI, sub-carrier orthogonality is violated) which is a problem for radar.
Using conventional FDM, chirp-like waveforms can be used, which require only a phase-locked loop (chirp generator) and an ADC with ca 10MHz bandwidth resulting in a much cheaper system. In contrast to your communication applications, the radar chirps can be stacked overlapping in frequency with an interval of ca 50MHz (2x ADC bandwidth plus a guard interval, see the paper of Sun et al). This is a loss of only 50MHz/1.5GHz=3.4% in terms of spectrum efficiency.
To my knowledge, OFDM radar is only used in some scientific studies, where radar is combined with a communication application.
However, I can't really find good references for radar FDM.
