RIS used to control the propagation of electromagnetic waves by changing the electric and magnetic properties of a surface. Using these surface, we can control the radio channels. This provides security to integrated tactical networks and increases the performance of its wireless system .
Besides the question of actively influencing and "controlling" the channel characteristics, another aspect is how the selection of the RIS materials influences them, right? Does anyone have already gained experience here or can/would like to do research in this direction?
If you have a paper on RIS, I am running a special session on "Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces" at this year's European Wireless (https://ew2022.european-wireless.org/call-for-papers/). Take a look at the CFP and consider submitting to the Special Session.
