I would like to know your experiences with GPS satellite trackers for vultures. We use mostly Eobs for areas with GSM and we are very happy. We will start a new project in a remote area in Namibia without cellphone network and we are looking into satellite trackers. Any advices based on your experience of trackers that perform (and advices on which ones do not perform) well?

No, Google Scholar doesn't search results don't provide you with field expertise. One actually has to iteratively refine the search terms by one's geographical area, time, species, and other aspects for your specific domain, filter by time to get the latest, actually open the literature entries presented to establish the degree of affinity with one's own project, and then find the email address and/or other contact information of the researchers involved. People like maybe Charles Mpofu of the Department of Wildlife & National Parks Botswana ( https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Charles-Mpofu-2 ).
If one also reads the references/bibliographies for the content the search engine returns, further possibilities appear, like survey and technical articles in ornithology journals discussing field practice and comparisons, and those also have contact information of the authors.
One can then email these folks, make community, potentially collaborate, and be referred along to other experts, versus hoping by random chance one of them will be in the right place at the right time with the right filter and see your request in their RG feed.
You can either do this or also ask in this open forum. Both ways are not exclusive. I assume you don't have expertise on satellite tags for vultures to share with us? Ok, thank you then, move on.
