I teach in higher education and obviously aim to create an educational experience my students will find satisfying. Can you recommend literature or predictor models of undergraduate course student satisfaction?
Though specific to tertiary psychology, the models are educative. Teaching variables, particularly teaching quality and expertise, tend to show the strongest relationships with student satisfaction. Institutional variables, such as services, facilities, image, and research activity, are also important.
I would say you might want to think about the term satisfaction (I am sure you have). Student satisfaction is my experience can be hard to predict but can focus on teaching, assessment, assessment support, pastoral care, administration and communications (from admin and teaching staff), feedback on learning, supervision. And I am sure many others too - hope that helps...
I would add to the excellent answers you have received that HEDS (Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium) has developed several validated student satisfaction inventories. Worth mentioning is that HEDS designed the most recent measures in consideration of COVID-19 related educational restrictions. As with most inventories, there are several subinventories, any of which, you can implement without affecting the Cronbach's alpha. HEDS requires that you ask permission and appropriately cite their material, but you are otherwise free to use the inventories as you see fit.
