I tried to search a bit for more information on the "Conference provider" but was not able to find a clear cut indication for the one or the other "property" or reliability of the offer. BUT: just to inform again, meanwhile I got two e-mails to my - but an old / outdated - mail-address (which was linked to my Board Membership to an (International) 'Society for Cutaneous Ultrastructure Research' (compare with the text in the Invitation below!) I recently have resigned). By reason of actuality:

As of today I got again an e-mail the text of which I copied and pasted below [since my last post in this thread I got some other 3 or 4 "reminders" or "Follow ups" for the 2017 conference from 'Mia').

What makes me really clairaudient is the fact that the 'organizers' [or at least their staff in the "person" called "MIA", respectively ] try - by a "follow-up my last invitation"(*) - to convince me to "attend" (on my own cost despite "to attend this meeting and present a speech on Cutaneous Ultrastructure Research.....[???]" (*) ) and, further on, mention, explicitely, that they "confirmed some supporting organizations: " (*)see below(*).

All of the mentioned organisations, societies (below in the e-mail-text) DO NOT MEET any commonality / mutuality with those societies whose aims are dedicated to the matter they want me to give a lecture... (i.e., well known National as well as international Societies in MICROSCOPY, Ultrastructure Research, DERMATOLOGY... they obviously thinking I would have resources to apply at any of these national and international organizations/societies?? and would apply for some sort of travel costs / travel funds... )

[???] They used (as proposal of "my" lecture/speech) simply the second part of the name of a Society I was Secretary and Board member for some years 2012-2017 (cf. www.scur.org) and it is peculiar that the (personal) e-mail-"invitations for attending their AnalytiX by Mia (to a special, hidden e-mail-account established in 2012 as the Secretary of SCUR until today! ) started in 2014. Despite asking for "stopping" their ad-campain and demanding to delete my former (non-official=closed Secretary's ) e-mail-address from their lists has not been successful yet.

So again here: - despite being "invited for presenting a speech / lecture" - one should be aware about eventually applying as a regular participant paying in full their Registration and other Fees....(I do not know since I haven't visited their website) - but yes: you might "benefit from the wonderful experience in Miami, USA" ......

Still am awaiting advertisement++ for AnalytiX-2018 as well as the following years, I guess...

I also received a similar invitation to present at the "Conference Analitytix 2018", whose event website is: http://www.bitcongress.com/analytix2018.

I even registered. But before making the payment, I tried to find out more about the event and realized that it was false.

I find it interesting to divulge about false events so that other researchers will look at this type of scam to raise money.

You might have found out that approx. two/three years I 'created' a project in RG about fake, hijacked journals / fake publications and publishers and, additionally on "fake-conferences...." it will be a little bit cumbersome to follow the "traces" of that work but I always found it necessary to warn colleagues (also on ResearchGate) about not only the possibility but the "reality" to get trapped and fooled by such "invitations" . YOU are the first responder, telling about a"false" (I interpret that as being a 'fake'-) event.... It would be helpful if you could provide some fact in more detail about how you found out that the 'event' was 'false' in your eyes.

I think, if it is only two or three colleagues which are warned and therefore will be really careful in their actions regarding "payment" or any personal concessions it might be justified to have asked the initial Question and some further comment(s) in this forum.

I shall NOT accuse anybody in a direct fashion, you for sure will understand (and for legal reasons as well! (:-)) ) .

But I can only point to the former "Beall's list" and all those weekly and sometimes daily comments by Jeffrey Beall's on his former website: http://scholarlyoa.com/,

where he ( as out of my memory) NOT ONLY ONCE warned about the Conferences as propagated by OMICS, but not only by OMICS....

Every Researcher should be aware of fraud and deceitfulness available via www. and inviting multiple and "reminding"....e-mail-notifications (=SPAM).... but sometimes people are 'accepting to be betrayed' because they would like to go to a(n) extramural / foreign "international" "conference" in a nice, overwhelming, and famous city, with a "gorgeous social program" and - finally - receiving a beautiful "Confirmation of Attendance"...

Regarding your request for my opinion on such congresses I -finally - can only hand over that evaluation and judgement to colleagues who ultimately were participants of such "events" and afterwards felt fooled and betrayed....

but -I guess - it is not easy to tell people about how you believed in "fabulous" promises and were definitely nobbled....

Due to my retirement I shall not be in a situation to attend any scientific conference anywhere, so I do not have the problem to search for pitfalls.......

I would like to thank you for bringing up this question in the first place and for clarifying the dubious situation.

Your exchange here has been very helpful to me!!

I also have received in the past year a series of emails from a certain "Mia" asking me to give a talk on a topic which is indeed dealing with my research. (I am aware of the fact that they could have taken this information from previous conferences that I attended...so not too surprising)

In the meantime Mia has even answered to an email of mine where I was asking her if her "invitation" was an actual invitation, i.e. to give a real invited talk and she replied by confirming this.

She even sent a series of links from previous conferences (2018 in Miami and 2019 in Singapore) but this link is still very dubious to me, especially with this name "bitcongress"...

In fact I was also trying to figure out what the acronym BIT stands for, but it was not possible to ascertain its meaning....so I found everything even more suspicious, but now, thanks to you I know better!!

(to an e-mail address of mine, which isn't used for long but was used when I was Secretary General of a smaller international Society)

every year until 2019 proposals of participating in their conferences*) of the "next year" either as a "speaker" (proposal of a certain field of scientific "knowledge" cribbed from other sources (webpages of classical congresses and their programme booklets) or "only" as attending researcher. Not only once, but always the first messages were followed by at least ONE to two 'reminders...'

That these China-located "Congress Organizers" fullfil the criteria of at least "dubious" if not to be named to be cheaters/ fraudsters can be seen in some other RG-threads (use e.g. ResearchGate full text 'SEARCH' function (this webpage, rectangle at top middle |Search for researchers, publications and more, insert either a keyword or put in a search phrase if you want, click the loup, wait a second and choose then from the results in Researchers - Publications - Q and A - Institutions - etc.), e.g | dubious conference | | fraud | or | predatory |, etc., etc.),
