Teflon is highly resistant to chemical attack and has a very low coefficient of friction (it is slippery). In addition, it can be used over a very wide temperature range (-73 o C ೦ 260 o C)
Teflon is a trade or commercial name for a polymer Polytetraflouroethylene (PTFE), the most chemically stable material, almost insoluble in most conventional solvent. Solvents with C22 and above can dissolve PTFE. It has a wide range of applications in the environments with sever corrosion caused due to chemical reactivity of materials.
