The current naphthenic acid mechanism was just made up! no study was perform to demonstrate it. it was just a guide made from experience. If you look at it, the only corrosion product would be FeS. Disolution of FeS by the acid is not shown. Current state of the art is presenting the possibility of the reaction between the acid and FeS. What do you think?wt
