I am designing different user interface configurations for fully automated driving, wherein I am evaluating trust in the system and comfort in non-driving related tasks (watching a video). The system trust is influenced with some changes in the transparency (between user and vehicle) information and this change is hypothesized to influence comfort in watching a video. I have the questionnaire to measure system trust (Jian et al.). Which questionnaire would be relevant for measuring comfort in watching the video?
If I were you, I would probably design my own questionnaire which would be specific to your research project.
It is often observed that general designs and compiled questionnaires are suboptimal when taken out from the design context and not developed according to the specific objectives and the features of the sample(s). It is a good practice to make a pilot assessment of a designed questionnaire to check its (i) clarity, (ii) aswerability, (iii) consistence, (iv) outcomes, (v) processability, and (vi) possible enhancement. There are however structural templates that may facilitate designing proper ones.
Thank you Richard and Imre. I thought about designing my own questionnaire but then again, empirical validity would be an issue. I am thinking of using the revised HED-UT scale which would given me the usability and hedonic metrics for the user interfaces (showing the non-driving related tasks). After the user testing, I will use cronbach's alpha to evaluate the questionnaire. Any thoughts on this approach?
