I have Synthesized amino acid conjugates of a Known drug molecule. I have Synthesized four molecules out of which three molecules have leucine moiety. This is the reason why Iam getting extra protons in the NMR spectra . Iam getting around 13 protons extra and I have searched the reason behind the same that this happens due to the aliphatic chain present in leucine and this leads to broad peaks in the 0.83-1 range thus giving rise to vague integration values . However ,I was able to identify and justify all the protons . The extra protons are occuring as the purity of the product is also less as I could not subject the product through Prep HPLC . Conventional chromatography does help in completely purifying the product .
So , my query was whether I can publish such results in a research article where I will justify the reason behind the same . Or is it necessary for the products to be purified and nmr should not contain any extra protons. I would like to know your thoughts on this .
