Many researchers of today think that Science and Technology is just "colourful pictures" and "animations in high-definition". It makes me feel sad that science and technology has fallen to such low levels of management and of ad-agencies where they talk nonsense, for hours, about literally no content whatsoever. Majority of the times it has been showing off and talking technical gibberish without understanding what they are talking.

Adding to this, the management (who actually does nothing but run after money) makes the life of scientists and engineers a lot more difficult by incorporating meaningless assessment procedures and changing them so often. After all, they have nothing better to do. All of this unwarranted pressure is producing researchers who are more of ad-makers than who they are supposed to be...

This is my opinion based on my experience. I would like to know what many other researchers and technologists here think. Please share your experience.
