Could someone please tell me what contributions (if any) did economics make to psychology? Any perspective or research into this subject would be very helpful for me. Thank you so much in advance.
I am interested in your topic. Please specify what you want to establish in the relationship of Psychology and Economics. Psychology refers to behavior and mental processes and economics refers to production and consumption. Are you interested on behavior of consumers and producers? There is economic psychology or behavioral economics that describes the relationship of these two disciplines.
Economics have contributed to psychology in several areas like game theory, behavior under risk, consumer choices, utility theory, and bounded rationality. Some of these areas have used concepts from mathematics and psychometry. Most of the time it is a two-way information flow and thus difficult to exclusively point to contributions that are one-way.
