Does anybody knows how to calculate the percentage of isotropic region in the phase diagram? Thanks in advance.

Attached is the phase diagram figures. I need to know how to calculate the percentage area of isotropic (1 phase) region. I have read some papers on this topic but there are no explaination or calculation on how they got the figures.
OK, both Figure 2 and 3 shows a 1-phase region that is colored pink. So basically you want to know what is its area over the total area of the phase diagram? I am not sure what use that could be to you but that is simply done: the classical approach would be to print and cut out the phase diagram on thick paper and weigh it on a balance, Mt. Then you cut out the pink area and weigh that as well, M1. The required percentage follows from the ratio of the two masses, M1/Mt x 100%. Of course, there are more sophisticated methods for this, for instance using image analysis software, but they may take significantly more time than the method proposed. If you do not need very much accuracy, you can approximate the wavy lines by straight lines, balancing the blue remainders on the pink side by the pink remainders on the blue side. Then you determine the coordinates of the vertices and calculate the area using elementary geometry.
If you are not sure this answer will do, please, also give us the doi of the papers that do what you wish to achieve and I will study those.

Thank you very much for the information provided. I am quite new in this field. I just wonder if there is specific formula or calculation for the isotropic region. But after reading many papers on that topic, it seems not important to calculate the region. As you said, it has no use.
Attached is the paper which I refer for the calculation of isotropic region. However no detail explaination was provided on the calculation of the region.

Well, the paper you attached is confusing so I looked further in the literature and in the book "Microemulsion properties and applications" edited by Monzer Fanun, section 5.2 you will find a discussion. Clearly, for formulation technologists a system with a large isotropic area is helpful because there is more freedom to select a suitable formulation. The method I described above is what is used to calculate the fraction of isotropic phase. But now ... the numbers in the article you attached are completely off! Rather than 33% and 39% they should roughly be 60% and 25% respectively. This must have confused you but I fear this occurs more frequently than we wish.
