Hello all,

I am a 4th year grad student in the proteomics field.

so here's my situation, a predecessor of mine did some MS analysis on mouse EAE models and I "inherited" if you will, the RAW data that I must now upload to perseus and do STRING analysis and all that.

the data I got is pretty old so even my predecessor doesn't know where some of the data is so I will have to work with what I can. The RAW data that I received seems to be a PD output but it doesn't seem to have a column for "Accession"... perhaps he deleted it or something... but now I'm wondering two things

1. can you do STRING analysis with simply gene names?

2. is there a way to get the accession no. for what I have? I know ID mapping function in the UniProt website gives the gene name when you enter in the accession but is there a reverse of that?

appreciate your time!

Andrew
