When i try to add my shape file in mike flood it doesn't overlay the river network on the grid. The projection i used is wgs84 44N. Can anyone help me with this.
I don't use MIKE software and I don't know how to solve the problem within it. But maybe you can solve it by QGIS (http://www.qgis.org/en/site/).
Are you talking about UTM 44N projection? Which is the coordinate system of each layer?
These questions can be ansvered through metadata examination in QGIS (Layer > Properties > Metadata > Layer Spatial Reference System). If coordinate systems of the layers differ, you should apply a transformation to make them compatible.
If your goal is just the overlap, configure the software (GIS) which is using for the coordinates of interest. Because when you import the files already recognize the system configuration. Otherwise if you need extract some information will be necessary to change the coordinate of the file in question.
when I face problem with the coordinate system in using mike grid , it can be avoided by using Non UTM. But first you should extract all xyz data of your shape on excel file to define the area limit and border ( by using Min&max eq on exel get the start point coordinates " shape zero point " and calculate the width and height to use it ) .
i hope it could help. it always works with me to avoid any problem with projection
