Sir, we are working on quenching and partitioning. we have six different samples of carbon steels 2 are from low carbon and 2 r from medium carbon and 2 are from high carbon in composition we have some other materials also with some ratio but in that only chromium has occupied a highest % ( from 11- 14 ) so when we are trying to calculate the asutenite temperature and martensite temperature then they are showing results in minus values we tried in some other formula also but no use the result goes the same can any one suggest me how to calculate the As &Ms temperature
What exactly do you mean by "quenching and partitioning"? (is it quenchinh + ageing?).
How did you calculate Ms and As? (i.e. CALPHAD approach for metastable phases or by some empirical formula)
Is the formula uses K or degree C?
Did you do any DSC analysis?
It is difficult to answer your question with so many unknowns.
steel with 11-14% Cr is basically dont form austenite or martensite. Cr s ferrite stablizer. Such steels may not suitable for producing martensite that too through Q & P route... it is not fair to expect martensite in high Cr steels
