does anyone can suggest papers concerning principle of guilt and insanity defense in criminal legislation? I am doing the research surrounding implementation on rights of people with disabilities in criminal proceedings and your eventual inputs will be very welcome.

The classic American work is Abraham S. Goldstein, The Insanity Defense (1967). Also good are Herbert Fingarette, The meaning of Criminal Insanity (1972), and Herbert Fingarette and Ann Fingarette Haase, Mental Disabilities and Criminal Responsibility (1979). Finally, for more recent treatments, look for books and articles discussing the federal insanity defense that Congress adopted after the Hinckley case.
