Good afternoon! What are the industrial extractors for extracting lipids from the biomass of microalgae? Where can I read about it? I have found just such a project for the extraction of lipids, but I do not have an idea or industrial project.And I found a video where the press used to extract oil from biomass mikrovodrosley.

The main extraction procedures include mechanical pressing, homogenization,
milling and solvent extraction. Methods using microwaves, supercritical fluid extraction, enzymatic extractions, ultrasonic-assisted extraction, pulsed electric field technology and osmotic shock are also being used to enhance the extraction of cellular lipids bodies by solvents (Mercer and Armenta, 2011; Zheng et al., 2011; Goettel et al.,2012).

Supercritical CO2 (fluid) extraction of lipids containing high value molecules is the most popular technology in use, which is considered as GREEN Technology as well because of no use of hazardous organic solvents and not only that, the CO2 used for the extraction can be re-cycled and thus the lipid extract obtained contain no harmful residues and is most suitable for food application. This technology may even be suitable for biofuel grade lipids extraction from large amount of microalgae biomass.
The requirement is for small scale or large scale extraction? My own experience with solvent extraction (Methanol+ Chloroform) is quite satisfactory.
The other economical way is to try the mechanical pressing or homogenization for that I found a hand operated oil expeller for multiple use oil extraction from Rajkumar Agro Engineers Pvt Ltd India. It could be quite cheap and may work for small scale extraction work also.
For large scale. I read a lot of articles about laboratory lipid extraction (Bligh and Dyer extraction, Folch, Soxhlet), but I did not find the article about the industrial extraction of lipids (design features of the device, etc.)

Actually at present the solvent based extraction only being widely practiced fro algal lipid extraction. Mechanical pressing or oil expeller are all good for seed based oligenous crops. Since algal lipids are stored on lipid bodies, the solvent system takes out from he dried biomass to solvent phase followed by phase separation and collection of oil.
