i m preparing 100mM stock sol of Palmitic acid in 0.1 M NaOH at 70c shaking water bath, i started its preparation at the end of day, but even after three hours at the above condition, it was not dissolved even 50%, and then i left it for overnight incubation but at 50c not at 70c, its solubility is reported in many organic solvent like ethanol, DMSO, Propanol, butane,, etc,,,,
but the article which i m following is also on C2C12 cells,,, and i m also using it in C2C12 mouse skeletal cell line. Most probability it will dissolve till morning, but in case not dissolve i just want, its alternative protocol,,, if anyone is following specially on cell lines,,,, then share it,,,

I've found the best way is to dissolve the lyopholised palmitic acid in ethanol and then to use that stock to bind to fatty acid free bsa dissolved in media. I've used this protocol a number of time for fatty acid oxidation assays etc in C2C12's and it works well.
