For diseases like septoria susceptibility classification is known to be
0-5% =Highly resistant
5-10%=resistant
10-20%=moderately resistant
20-30%=Moderately Susceptible
30-40%=Susceptible
>40%=Highly susceptible ,
does the same classification works for powdery mildew or is there a different category? I posted for any cooperation
The situation for powdery mildews has several layers. Powdery mildews of cucurbits are divided into races based on which host cultivars they infect; either they infect a cultivar or they don't-- a percentage scale wouldn't work there. The cucurbit powdery mildew can also infect some non-cucurbits, and those infections can be sparse and hard to see-- the percentage scale wouldn't work there, either. However, in dogwood powdery mildew, dogwood cultivars can be rated as sensitive or tolerant. So it depends a little on what system you are working on.
