I am currently looking for ideas for my thesis (Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering) and I am trying to see what possible areas within the 3D printing community would possibly be suitable. Any suggestions would really be appreciated!
Edit: one possibly idea is something regarding using 3D printing to help during a pandemic?
PPE includes protective clothing, gowns, gloves, face shields, goggles, face masks, and respirators or other equipment designed to protect the wearer from injury or the spread of infection or illness. While it is possible to use 3D printing to make certain PPE, there are technical challenges that have to be overcome to be effective enough. For example, 3D-printed PPE may provide a physical barrier, but 3D-printed PPE are unlikely to provide the same fluid barrier and air filtration protection as FDA-cleared surgical masks and N95 respirators.
u can research on ways to reduce step error in 3d printed models. U can also go for material aspect of 3d printing and find new materials (eco friendly/ recycled recommended)
U can also go for finding new ways to support your 3d printed model using least material which usually goes to waste.
