True. Today politics is for money and power, not for serving the public. So it is normal to follow unethical routes for success in elections.

But in the present scenario, it is difficult to make a change. However, decreasing the tenure of a ministry to two / three years may be beneficial. Also, the candidate should have some minimum educational qualifications, based on the post to which he is appearing. The election commission should be more vigilant and take strong actions against all corruptions related to election. In addition, there must be a provision for the voter to impeach an elected candidate if the elected members performance is not fair.

I am not sure what you think is the problem. Different people have different political opinions. so what?

Thanks for sharing your opinions. Those are beneficial specially like in India if EC (Election Commission) implement properly.

From my point of view, politicians mainly target illiterate and low income family group (BPL families) for their agenda of politics with foundation on money, caste, religion and region.

One way to reduce it is with proper education and making people belief in their power that politicians and political parties which is not for us, by us and for us will be brought down any time.

Another solution can be making such an electoral system where every Indian can cast their vote from any part of the world. By this, the educated section of society which dont live in their native place can also vote and their votes will not be waste.

I disagree with decreasing the tenure of government as democracy like us, this would not be possible to hold elections at this frequency. Holding elections again and again is waste of huge money. This will, i guess block our development.
