Following the helpful answers I got on my previous question in this forum, I now have another one for you.
I have been recommended to try and do poisson regression in R instead for in SPSS, but the benefit by doing this remains a bit unclear to me. Anyone who has any experience of both programs and can give some insightful comments on the pros and cons with each program, both in general and more specific regarding poisson regression (I have never worked in R before but are quite familiar with SPSS).
R is more flexible - you can use different packages with different functionality.
However, SPSS has a GUI.
If you say you're familiar with SPSS, I do not see that you should have difficulty in developing a Poisson regression.
