In the 4th edition of the book "Learning to Teach Mathematics in the Secondary School", a colleague and I have written the chapter entitled "Planning for mathematics learning" in which we refer to research that might be relevant to your dissertation.
In Peru, official subentities of Ministry of Education everyday say us that we must write (plan) lessons: one lesson per day. Such lessons are very bulky, due to official suggestions. In this way, many colleagues don't have sufficient time for theirselves: only they write lesson plans!
