On the basis of certain rubrics:
(A) Content analysis of a document was carried on ( qualitative and quantitative )
(B) A survey was performed , which had both qualitative and quantitative questions ( predominantly quantitative)
Quantitative and qualitative results of (A) will be compared to each other
Quantitative and qualitative results of (B) will be compared to each other
Quantitative results of (A) will be compared with quantitative results of (B)
Qualitative results of of (A) and (B) will be discussed.
Please suggest an appropriate research design name for this.

Generally speak, doing a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the same data is called a "transformative design." Because triangulation requires the comparison of two different data sets, it is not appropriate in that case, but it could apply to using the two different data sets. At present, however, the term triangulation is not preferred because it has too many different meanings (see the attached file). Two common alternatives are "convergence" for assessing whether the results agree, and "complementarity" when one study adds to what the other covers.
As far as embedded goes, that is used almost exclusively to mean a qualitative component that is included within a larger, quantitative intervention study.

I agree triangulation is not the appropriate term. Transformation is closer. However transformative design often asserts that the quant is derived form the qual. It also often denotes which of these has the larger focus e.g. qual-QUANT, QUANT-qual, QUAl-quant or QUANT-qual. So you might want to think about that.
Overall, the most important consideration of design is how it will best answer the research questions. Try to think about the logic of that when reviewing designs, rather than letting the design dominate your thinking.
