Regrettably, I cannot provide you with software or a book.

I can give advice, though. My research is mainly in humanities/social sciences. One book was particularly useful during my PhD study (and it is still my favourite of the kind).  The book is by Hair et al. "Multivariate data Analysis". You can check whether it is available in your university library.
