To the best of my knowledge, Minimizing Manhattan/ City Block fitness function that used in paper titled: "Using Genetic Algorithm to Improve Information Retrieval Systems" is the lowest complex fitness function used in Information Retrieval to check the typical similarity/dissimilarity between query/document vectors.

Please, I am wondering if there is function less complex than Minimizing City Block fitness function.
