There is a range of diagnostic tools available to investigate and screen for BVD virus and antibodies. The website of the UK National Milk Laboratories has links which will lead to descriptions of the tests and programmes they offer, with technical information about each. That site will in turn lead you to the BVD Free website which describes the resources available to farmers who are trying to control BVD infection in the UK herd. Idexx Laboratories and Thermo-Fisher Scientific also have good resources . Diagnosis and screening programmes for BVD need to use a range of diagnostic tests, as described in the National Milk Laboratories BVDHerdCheck programmes.
