Please i need idea how to simulate a microcontroller that can monitor and coordinate output power of hybrid microgrid (pv, wind, battery and microturbine as a back-up). the work of the microcontroller is to check the available energy of each sources and select or combine the sources for the load demand. if a load demand is 150kw and pv is generating 50kw and windturbine is generating 110kw, it should select pv and windturbine at that moment and if the energy demand is higher than energy generaing it should select microturbine.
what are the parameter i need to consider and how do i go about it, and can it be simulated with simulink? thank you

beforehand, you have to decide
- on the algorithm for using the sources. It the sources are owned by different persons who provided the investment and expect financial returns, you would, in your example above, put the owner of the microturbine at a disadvantage. On the other hand, it would be rational to prefer renewable energy.
- on the way the power generated by pv and windturbine and the demand is simulated. You could use pseudo random numbers, or base your simulation on meteorological data and power consumption statistics of 2018, for example.
- on the way the battery is recharged (e.g. by all sources or by renewable energy only), and on the efficiency and the rate of self-discharge of the battery.
You know that you have all relevant data at hand when the microcontroller could be replaced by you, and you were certain what to do during every step of the simulation. Then you can analyse your actions and decisions, document them by a graphical method (e.g. flow chart, Nassi-Shneiderman diagram), and implement the diagram using a programming language.
For lack of experience with Simulink, I can't give advice about the details of the implementation.

Adding to the respected colleague Jeorge, the first step is to develop the physical model elaborately. Then you have to add the test and monitoring points on the system. Also you have to develop in the physical model the the switches required to control the flow of the power from each source to the load. The control signal of the switches will be issued by the microcontroller. You need to develop an application software on the microcontroller to implement these tasks.
So your system must include also the microcontroller and its connections of the microcontroller to the power circuit.

With reference to how much power each of the DG unit is expected to deliver, I have worked on the LabVIEW implementation of it. Besides this, the programming of the microcontroller can be done in Simulink. I have used TI C2000 f28335 microcontroller platform for my my design. You can have a look at a part of my design in the following video:
