In arc GIS NDVI values cannot be taken as a attribute table. So the map preparation in ERDAS is easier. But taking color ramp for the legend in map composer is difficult. Pls tell how to do that?

In Arcgis you can do it clicking with mouse left button on the NDVI image and clicking "open attribute table". Did you tried it?

Only the thematic layers attributes are opened with Arc GIS. If the output in 8 bit or 16bit then only the image attribute may open in Arc.

Erdas Imagine will not show colorramp, may other will show color ramp.
