It looks like Anopheles Arabiensis. But smaller and has white colour fungus like growths in the body (abdomen). They are bigger than the local mosquitoes. The habitat is a paddy field in a dry zone of Sri Lanka. But found them in the rainy season.
The sample looks like not in good condition and furthermore, the picture quality is really bad. For me, the mosquitoes do not belong to Anopheles genus. As information, they are a lot of paddy field mosquitoes that feed on humans.
The mosquito is not of Anopheles genus but only the colour pattern is similar to Anopheles Arabiensis. We have not seen this mosquito in the locality. They are bigger in size compared to typical mosquitoes found here. interesting fact is that they were only found within a three weeks time period and seems to have disappeared. Now we are having trouble with collecting samples.
